VOICE-OVERS
ABOUT ARIA
Aria is an award winning actress, a voice-over artist, director, producer & founder of Global Cooling Productions, which uses media and entertainment to help inspire and empower climate action. Aria, a past host for Long Island International Film Expo, also produces directs and edits short format environmentally inspired content for RevolutionEarth.TV.
Originally from Florida, Aria learned to speak fluent Italian in high school, while living in Rome, Italy. She went on to earn her Acting Degree from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in California. After graduation, she received her first paid roles at Shakespeare Santa Cruz with Carrie Preston in Northern California. Shortly after, Paul Rudd cast her to act with himself, Adam Scott (Big Little Lies), & Kelly Rowan (The OC) in a production of ‘Bloody Poetry’ at The Globe Playhouse.
Aria continued studying in Los Angeles where she took Master Classes with The Moscow Arts Theatre Company's George Shdanoff, who was instrumental in helping to develop The Michael Checkov Acting Technique with Michael Checkov, and was considered 'one of the most notable theatrical minds of our century'. While working with George and The Los Angeles Theatre Company, she also worked with Barry Primus, (director of Robert Deniro’s 'Mistress') and notable Georgian actress, Ia Parulava. Around this time, she also had the opportunity to study acting on stage with the illustrious Lynn Redgrave.
After moving back to Florida she became active in Regional Theater, and won First Place in The National Society of Arts and Letters Acting Competition for the SE US. This is also where she began her career in voice-overs. Clients included Disney, Yokahama, and Chevy Dealers among many others. This laid the groundwork for her eventual expansion into coaching, direction and production work for The NY Voice Over Success Program and Voice Tree Productions where she has directed and produced countless commercial demos. She was also talent, ADR supervisor and casting assistant for ESPN’s ‘30 for 30’ series, ‘The Two Escobars’, and has directed and produced several audio-books.
She moved to NY right before September 11th, where she began her television and film career. Her feature film, 'Brilliant Mistakes' in which she played the supporting role of Sandra, a devastated mother of two who turns to booze and inappropriate men when one of her daughters lands in a coma, premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival to a standing ovation. She also played the lead role, Kathy in 'Right Hand, Red' which was nominated for a 'Short Grand Prix' award at the Warsaw International Film Festival. After numerous film roles, including the starring role in the film ‘Colors’ with her 8 year old daughter, which premiered at Tribeca Cinema’s Big Apple Film Festival, she moved into TV. Shows include, Celebrity Ghost Stories, A Haunting, The Haunting Of, and True Crime to name a few.
Aria's desire to have a more positive impact on the world, caused her to become more environmentally active and to branch out into video content production. She has developed and produced multiple political ads for Quantum Surge Media and her dramatic, narrative series, Revolution Earth (a love triangle that reverses global warming) is currently in development with Golden Globe Award winning writer/producer Jeff Abugov (‘Roseanne, ‘Two and a Half Men’, 'Cheers').
She is in the narrative division of the Healthy Climate Alliance, has been a panelist at American Renewable Energy Day, a speaker for the Cooperative Impact Conference sponsored by Princeton University, & keynote speaker for Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project in Gainesville, Florida. Aria is a member of Citizens Climate Lobby, the American Sustainable Business Council, & the Climate Reality Leadership Corps.

a few acting reviews
Charming Aria McKenna captivates.
- Hot Spot Magazine
Aria McKenna as Claire Clairmount .. is so compelling.
- Drama-Logue
Aria McKenna wears the pain of Laura Wingfield on her face. Her haunting eyes reveal as much about her character as her quiet tones and shuffling gait. Laura is a tragic figure who yearns for her one moment in the sun, only to have it painfully plucked away from her by Jim’s revelation.
- Happenings
Aria McKenna is equally as good as Doris. I have been a fan of Ms. McKenna as I have seen her in two other plays. She was also outstanding in ‘The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe’, and as Jo in ‘Little Women’.
- The First Coast Entertainer
Betty -- Well, Aria McKenna as the lovely and relatively sane title Character - is most engaging and screams beautifully. (Trust me, passing out and screaming on stage are not as easy as they appear)
- The Key West Citizen
The very versatile Aria McKenna (as) Tina the prostitute makes her entrance, and if it were not for the program, you would never realize it is .. Chrissy in an entirely different role.
- First Coast Entertainer
Aria McKenna as Doris is wonderful. Her metamorphosis from a naive young woman to an assured and independent adult is interesting. By the end of the play, her character has experienced the spectrum of the American woman - motherhood, liberation, career, and all.
- The Ponte Vedra Recorder
Aria McKenna easily commands the attention of the audience, as Portia, honorable wife of Brutus.
- The Record
Aria McKenna beautifully oozes lust as Myrtle Mae.
- The Ft. Myers Beach Observer
Aria McKenna as the minister’s daughter, Rachel adds energy, sparkle, and emotion to the production.
- Islander
This portrayal of Jo, which gets under our skin and into our hearts, is the result of a superb performance by McKenna.
- The Ponte Vedra Recorder
Aria McKenna is excellent as Jo, the writer. Ms McKenna, who impressed me ... in ‘Search for Signs of Intelligent life in the Universe’ is equally impressive in this role.
- First Coast Entertainer
Aria McKenna gives a touching, delicate performance as Laura. The actress seems to shrink inside herself, brightening only in exchanges with her brother and during her briefly hopeful encounter with the gentleman caller.
